terry-h - yeh sorry, what a Burke!
I did say at half time that Rice, holland and Cullen were all comfortable on the ball.
As soon as they were subbed, along with Lanzini, it all went haywire.
Let's hope they all get a decent opportunity to shine this season.

Agree most of that. But I think you mean Burke and ginger pele needed to push up. Rice was superb in the first half. I think young Declan will be our top CB and captain in the not too distant future. The boy has a bigger future than Reece Oxford mark my words.

Worth noting that both matches I think virtually the entirety of them was using 4-1-4-1 (or 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 depending how you want to describe it). Might be an indication that that is the preferred approach for the start of the season? I thought we might see the three at the back at least tried out again in friendlies.

We're fucked if Lanzini is out of the team through injury or suspension.
Got no one to replace him in any way.

What a fuckin let down that 2nd half was.
Missed lanzini big time.
Noble's had it, Snodgrass waste of space and even ginger pele looked dodgy again. Knocking across the back.
Him and Rice need to push up. They're deeper than the porn bros pockets.
And when Cullen went off as well, there was no supply to martinez.
J.arthur played well.
Good 1st half (the early goal settled em). Disappointing 2nd half.
Still, a win's a win.

People say there's a good player in there somewhere, he didn't resemble a bad player even

Just a friendly etc, but how sloppy from some of those senior players. Standards I don't think you should accept in a training routine, let alone a match. Wondering where the lack of intensity comes from - look at a few of those players!

Good first half, a disappointing in the second half.
But most importantly a win, which should help with gaining a winning mentality.

Fulham the better side in the second half - disappointing considering they have far fewer fresh legs on the field. In both matches the youth-oriented line-up has played better than the seniors.

I think the problem for Cullen is that he wants to do the same thing as Noble and be the playmaker, but he'll never get picked ahead of Noble. But also he's clearly not going to be as reliable as Obiang or Kouyate defensively. And he looks a bit lost here playing a bit further forward in the second half - neat and tidy but not effective enough.
